We went round school to take pictures that could be used for our front covers and double page spread. This would give us an idea of what would look good for the actual final product and what would work best for our genres. However, due to only being in school grounds we were limited on what pictures we could take and how much time we had. Although, this is only a draft and I will improve these pictures and use different backgrounds.
Here is the first example of the pictures we took. Once again, we were limited on the school grounds. However, I like this picture due to the earthy feel of it. When looking at my focus group earlier from the questionnaires I made, the main answer was an earthy, Autumn feel for the magazine. Here you can see the grass and trees, creating that feel. The low angle allows a lot to fit in the shot and means that if I was to add people into the image, you would get a full length picture of the person seen. To begin with I thought the fence would be an issue and ruin it, however, it has worked out quite well and I feel like this shows a good example of what I want to achieve. Although, it can be improved massively. On the other hand, I also like the effect the blue sky has on the picture as it makes it brighter, so I was lucky with the weather.
The second image creates the same feel. I like the trees and grass again, creating the earthy feel once more. I decided to stick with this idea because the majority of my focus group suggested that feel. This is due to the indie demographic often going to festivals. These two pictures both come across to me as images that could be used looking at an acoustic aspect.
To enable me to use both of these feels, Urban and earthy, I could incorporate one on the front cover and one on the double page spread. However, this would be changing the theme throughout but going against the norm may work out better and be more successful. I have a good idea of what I want to create finally and will further this when I get the opportunity to explore different grounds.
